This is a really important part of the year for them.

Hope too that Dept of Transportation across the cornbelt will hold off mowing.

I have a batch of nearly 50 chrysalis that should be emerging soon. I hope they just nectar for a while and then head straight for Mexico. I see quite a bit of milkweed around me, but it is starting to yellow and dry up. I more than doubled the milkweed plants in my garden this year, but now I've moved to Madison, WI and I'm living in an apartment. So, I can't garden much. I'm hoping to find a house by next summer or fall with a yard large enough to plant a large garden again.

Anyway, congratulations on your beautiful Monarch mama. Go out and grab those eggs as soon as she takes a break. And have fun raising those babies. They do grow up so fast!
