I think they'd do fine together, Brad.
The bulbs pop up in early spring, before your butterfly bush will have leafed out, and I've learned from experience, oddly, that most plants do better when slightly crowded. You'd think they'd do better with all the water and nutrients available to just one plant, but that's not the way it's worked in reality. As long as one plant doesn't shade a smaller one completely out, that is.

Plants do seem to have a mind of their own lol. Bulbs are fairly new to me. Mom's always had irises and she did have daffodils years ago. Crocuses I've seen before but we've never had them in the garden. Our Wal-Mart's starting to get in their bags of bulbs and I was thinking of giving these a try and they're pretty easy from what I read and heard. Now I just need to find a place for the snowdrops and grape hyacinths lol.
