So this would be a Snowberry Clearwing? (from a couple weeks ago.)

I just did some research online. According to one website, snowberry clear wings have black legs, while the hummingbird clearwings have light legs. Online photos seem to bear that out. I'm just a beginner, though, so take it for what it is worth.

I think you've ID'd them correctly, Sandy, at least I'm sure the first picture is a hummingbird clearwing - the second one is undoubtedly a snowberry clearwing, since it has that bumblebee look.

Incidentally, when I was reading up on these guys the other day, I read that the reason the wings are clear is because they lose their scales from being so active! Interesting, isn't it?

Liz, I read that a while ago and it just blows my mind! I can understand how it happens though, they are constantly in motion!

What is the plant they are loving?

That is some kind of white buddleia...it was labeled as a "dwarf," but it is in its 2nd year and over 6 feet tall...I think the label lied. Its pretty fragrant as well. A lot of things love it, though, so I don't really mind.
