dr.liz don't worry I am in the same boat. Just this past year I transformed my back yard from a hot,dead sandbox to one with greenery and life. I can sit for hours watching an assassin fly hunt or marvel in the acrobatics of hummingbirds. I love seeing new things and that bug is cool! Now you just need to start getting photos. LOL the cabbage white post has some interesting camera discussion if your so inclined.

They are particularly fond of Goldenrod which is in full bloom at the height of their flight period.

Ever time I see one in my yard, I can't help but be reminded of a Clemson student dressed for the big game!

So many kinds! The early ones are already blooming here. Last year I checked them out and decided they were S. odora. Lots more will come later.

I'll definitely look for those on my Goldenrod this year. I esp like diurnal moths and miss the variety down in Fla., esp the Snowcap Spanworm Moth and the Oleander Wasp Moths.
I hope to entice a Ctenucha or two into my garden one day...
I simply LOVE the Hummingbird Clearwing Moths.
