I was in the bed beside my driveway this afternoon, fiddling with a sprinkler, and a medium size orange butterfly flew in and landed on the ground. I could see he was drab with the wings closed, and the shape looked like an angle wing. I doubted he would stay put until I could grab my binoculars, but he did. A question mark or comma--I could see the little mark under the wing. New to me! There are three hackberries in that bed not 10 feet away ( small ones) so I was hoping one of these would show up. I was thrilled!
