You think I would learn...

Although butterflies are delicate, intricate pieces of nature you can not be, in this country, so when chasing them.

Last week I jumped out of the vehicle into a patch of thistle with shorts and flip flops. Today I jumped out on a very steep sandy hillside with flip flops. IF, yes, IF I would have proper footwear I could have got more shots. It was steep enough I blew both sets of flip flops out, took 2 hours to pick the thorns I slid into out of my feet and got only this mediocre shot. Plus I had to bolt 45 mins into town to get my camera and lens cleaned.....

Anyone here have a medical degree that can put me in an appropriate home?

The one, the only Swallowtail of my year....I haven't tried to ID it because i am too disgusted because I couldn't chase it.

Is there a 12 step butterfly program?

Actually, I AM a psychiatrist. I think you have a serious case of Lepidopteritis. The only cure is a better pair of shoes. On second thought, maybe what you need is a podiatrist ....

I need treatment because I have great footwear but the butterflies call me making me rush out in slip ons....I am not sure this is curable but I bet if you all sent me a 6 pack of bud I'd lick it.

An aged, faded Western Tiger Swallowtail.

Not Pale Swallowtail because black border band not wide enough. Looks too large for Canadian, plus can't see uppermost HW border spot to see if it is orange (but the very bottom tip of it looks yellow).

Thanks larry, I was honestly sliding down the bank as I took that. Didn't get quite the framing or wing position I hoped for. Ok, honestly was the only one I was able to keep in frame...

Going back to that area in the late morning, in case :)
