Question about spicebush cats

Do they move around to different leaves? I hope so, 'cause the guy I've been watching isn't tucked into his leaf anymore. He wasn't tucked very well and was half sticking out. I hope he made it.
And how the heck do they get that leaf to roll? (I know, I know.....with their little arms). :)

They begin spinning silk and contract the lines...bringing the leaf together.

I would imagine that they move as they outgrow (and outeat) their leaf..but I don't know. Perhaps it moved to pupate too ?

They frequently leave the roll to eat nearby leaves, then return to the nest. And when they outgrow a leaf roll, they go elsewhere and make another one. 'Can't remember one going too far to do either thing. Hopefully, yours wasn't eaten by a wasp or predatory stink bug, Catherine!

Thanks Sherry. I'm inundated with stink bugs this year! I hope that's not what happened. Hopefully they're too busy with my beans in the garden to bother the cats.....and they ARE busy there!
