Caterpillar worries

Liz

My monarch caterpillars are now about six days old (since hatching.) When I got home from work at around 2 PM today, they were not on the leaves. One was on the plastic container and another on a paper towel. The third one was removed yesterday to another container because he was much smaller than the others and I was afraid he was sick. At this point none of them are eating.

I don't imagine I can do anything about it if they are sick, but it would be such a shame. Every egg is so precious now. I thought I would be helping them by bringing them in to raise, but I am starting to feel guilty.

They were on Swamp milkweed originally, but since bringing them home I have raised them on tropical milkweed. I'm sure it wasn't treated with any chemicals.

If these guys die, I doubt I will try this again. :(
