Well, my chunky babies are finally (at about the size of my pinky finger) undergoing the transformation period. I have five cats, three of which pupated three days ago. The last two (one of them turned out to be the black coloration for Black Swallowtail cats, which is cool) are just beginning to roam for a place to pupate. I just peeked into the cage/net, and saw one of the cats trying to pupate on another pupa... S/he's already got his/her hind end attached to the other chrysalis, and is trying to get the silk around itself...
So, should I be concerned? I'm not even going to try to separate them...
Another question: When they turn black and are about to emerge, do you stick the net outside and open the door on it while you are gone (at work, etc)? I had a chrysalis open while I was at work a couple of weeks ago, but it was outside on a shrub so I didn't have to worry about it trying to fly away in captivity.
