Owl butterfly native to South America was this in your yard?

Is it metallic blue on top, and Owls are HUGE!! Like bigger than your hand. I do think it is some kind of escapee, though

Specifically, this is the Forest Giant Owl, Caligo eurilochus.

I remember those from Butterfly World in Coral Springs, Florida...
They seemed real "tame" and liked to hang out in moist caves. They fly slowly about in the late afternoon.
What really struck me was their size and upper color. The one shown must be on a good size leaf...
