Milkweed seed exchange

I started some Aztec Gold milkweed from seed, but they don't bloom. Tops are covered with yellow aphids! :-(

Does anyone have some seeds from any milkweed that will grow in Texas to trade for an amaryllis bulb? I know I could just go buy some plants, but I always worry about insecticides.

I can only trade with a few people, but would like to expand your garden success to my garden.

Send me an email through the forum. I will be traveling for a week AND won't be sorting through bulbs until mid October.

Hello.

I don't have any seeds but I have TONS of those aphids you're referring to and I don't think they are the reason your milkweeds are not flowering! Every milkweed I own....not that many, but I have a range of species, are all covered in aphids. Yet I have had A.tuberosa ("Hello Yellow") blooming since May and still going strong even though there are few leaves left due to caterpillars munching and aphids sucking. I do not control the aphids because although they may look unattractive they don't seem to affect the plants and I think they would be impossible to control unless you sprayed....wipe them off and they are replaced by more. What species is Aztec gold?

I have no idea! It had a tag and has yellow blooms. Time to get some standards.
