I found a Monarch Chrysalis lying on the ground in my garden yesterday. Brought it inside and attached it to a branch with a wire tie....Not sure if this happened today, or if it was already like this when I picked it up from the ground yesterday....however, I can see wings, etc. through the chrysalis, and there is a split toward the top border of the pupa and seems to be a tiny opening at the bottom of the pupa. Here's my questions....does this chrysalis look healthy? I noticed the top split in and around the 9:30 am timeframe....it is now 11:17 am....is that normal if the butterfly is trying to emerge?
