Funny you should post this. I saw one today, just like it, on the side of my cucumber box. Maybe a snout moth?
Whatever they are, they are flying now.

This is Pyrausta californicalis out west and similar to Pyrausta orphisalis in the east, known as the "orange mint moth", the caterpillars feed on mints.

Thank you, Larry for making my day! I grow mints, Nepetas and Monarda punctata so I'm hoping I can attract more of these little guys.

Explains too, why I saw one on my cuke box at rest. They are close to the mint/herbs box. I'm going to keep a close watch now, for larvae.

Although they can zip around when disturbed, the flight is otherwise quite fluttering and dainty.

Wingspan is 3/4" at most.
