Butterfly Garden

What should I do

I have a Monarch Caterpillar hanging in its J shape on a milkweed leaf I've never had this situation before. So should I take it off and put it somewhere else or leave it be. Incase this is a problem I also have caterpillars with the about to be chrysalis. Should I take it off the leaf and tape it to something more sturdy or just leave it be.

Are these individual leaves? Or are they on a sturdy branch in water?

It is on a live plant that is sleeved outside. Sorry kinda confusing.

I'd just leave it. Will you be taking the sleeve off before it will eclose? As long as it has room to hang to dry and will be able to flap it's wings, then you are fine. Do you plan to release it? Tag it? Attract a mate for it? I would think most Monarchs would be most interested in nectaring as much as possible and gettting on the road to Mexico, depending on your location.
