Yep that's a match. Thank you Ladobe. Lovely little critter but I'm putting it outside on a wild grape vine since that is listed as a host.

If it was just wandering about on the grass, this lineata is likely full-fed and ready to pupate. Place it in a small container with at least 3-4" of moist dirt or pure potting peat [the kind with no chemicals] to see if it promptly begins to burrow under.

I'm trying very hard not to keep any cats over the winter. My back yard wouldn't have been a good place to leave it because it's our fenced area where we have three dogs. I moved it outside the fence to a grape vine. There's dead leaves below and the soil isn't terribly dry because there's plants in that area that I water regularly. It should be happy there.

I have some moon vine seeds that I'd like to plant in the spring. I think I might see some interesting moths.
