Butterfly Garden

What butterflies are these?

There have literally about a hundred of these guys in my garden, each day this weekend. What exactly are they? They seem to like the verbena bonariensis the most, although they're still covering just about anything they can land on...

What wonderful pictures! They are skippers. Someone else may be able to tell you the exact kind.

These are Sachems. They can become abundant some years, especially in September.

I have them year-round here. And this year, there are a LOT! They do love the "verbena-on-a-stick" and the lantanas, and the zinnias, and the orange cosmos........

I think they're pretty funny in the garden. They can perform some amazing flying feats!
