Out of curiosity, I looked up Agalinis fasciculata, Tom, and found that it's been transferred out of the snapdragon family to a family called Orobanchaceae, along with Castilleja, which is also a buckeye host plant. Agalinis is hemiparisitic, meaning that it has its own roots, and is only partially parasitic on the roots of other plants. I only see it growing along grassy roadsides, so I assume that grasses are the plants it's primarily dependent on. I've never seen it growing among cultivated yard grasses. The only way I know of that you could grow it, assuming you live in a typical suburban type neighborhood, is set aside an area to plant native grasses, then, after the grasses have become established, you could sow Agalinis seeds that you've gathered from roadside plants between the grasses and hope the Agalinis comes up! You could plant panic grass, love grass, etc., which native plant mail order nurseries carry - Mail Order Natives in Lee, Florida carries a good selection. If you have the space, it'd be worth the effort. If you do this, I'll send you some seeds. Agalinis flowers are very beautiful - occasionally you see a white one, but they're usually pink.
The Agalinis fasciculata here is in bud and should be flowering soon. Here's a picture of the flowers -

And here's a picture of a buckeye caterpillar on the plant, so you can see what the leaves look like -

The leaves grow back quickly after caterpillars eat them. I think one caterpillar could spend its entire life on one medium to large plant, since by the time it was on the last branch the first few branches will have sprouted fresh, new growth.
I've planted many other buckeye host plants with no takers. For whatever reason, the local buckeyes are totally stuck on Agalinis.
