My eggs

My painted lady butterflies have laid eggs!!!! I'm sorry the picture isn't very good but you might be able to see them... If not let me know and I will try to take a better picture. I'm really excited. Two others are mating. My first eggs!!!!

I have more batches on different leaves but this is only one batch.

Congratulations!!! You must be thrilled. I think I'm done with butterflies for the year. Just enjoying watching and waiting for all my plants to give up seeds so I can continue to expand what I have to offer for next year. My DH found a toad hanging out in a damp corner. That's encouraging, since it means the bug population is adequate to support toads, and there aren't a any chemicals around to harm them.

Enjoy your Painted Lady babies. Hope to see more pictures as they grow.

Congrats to you Sam! I would be very excited too. I have ever seen Painted Lady eggs and did not realize how much they resemble Monarch eggs except for the coloring. Post more pics and keep us posted on the progress.
