Nice butterfly day (for september) in Minnesota. Had a red admiral, a painted lady, and monarchs fluttering around the garden. Also, the bumble bees are getting PLUMP! lol

I was clearing what I thought was a "leaf" off the liatris and it started to fly away. Later, this butterfly/moth was parked on a window. Sorry for the blur, but it's the best i could do through a window. Any ideas? TIA Tony

There are several geometrid moths know as "slant line", yours looks like one of them. Can't identify the exact species from the backlit underside photo.

Thanks Larry...those may or may not be common around here. If I hadn't tried to touch it I would have never known it was alive...and then it made itself obvious again by landing on the window.
