Congrats, congrats, Sandy! I have seen 2 Monarchs, a Cloudless Sulphur, and my regular small butterflies. There is also a Monarch hanging out at Jessica's house. So far, that's all. But, I am waiting with baited yard, lol!

I can't imagine that kind of variety. I was out gardening all afternoon and the sedum is blooming. Sorry I can't give you the names and they wouldn't hold still for a picture, but there was a tiny butterfly in orange tones and a slightly larger one. I am assuming they were some kind of skippers.

My son did a clean up on Saturday at the beach and he said it was littered with dead Monarchs. I wonder if they flew down the lake and it was too much for them?

Wow - lucky you! Glad to hear you've got lots of butterflies, Sandy. I've probably seen fewer species all season - although that is probably my lack of lepidopterological skill more than anything.

I would say that NE Oklahoma is the happenin' place these days. Our last monarch, a female, eclosed today.

Wow Sandy! That must have been incredible. I was super excited to see multiple monarchs yesterday, maybe 10 or so flying around one of my crepe myrtles. It looked like they might be thinking about roosting there. I knew the cooler weather must be pushing them through.

10 butterflies is more than I have seen all summer, TOTAL. The good news is that my passionvine should be setting good roots if the gulf frits ever show back up again.
