Butterfly Migration!

The migration is on here in NE Oklahoma. Today has been the most incredible butterfly day I can remember in at least a year! I just came in from counting Monarchs - 40+ - that appear to be getting ready to roost for the night. There are at least as many Buckeyes. There are numbers of Painted Ladies, Pipevine Swallowtails, Sachems, Southern Broken-Dashes, Fieries, Tawny-Edged Skippers, Silver-spotted Skippers, Gray Hairstreaks, and Eastern Tailed-Blues. In addition, I have seen a Questionmark, a female Spicebush, a Common Checkered-Skipper, Dainty Sulphurs, two Cloudless Sulphurs, several Orange Sulphurs, four Snouts, an Indigo Duskywing, a Eufala Skipper, a Hackberry Emperor, Black Swallowtails, and Red Banded Hairstreaks. Oh, yes, a Nysa RS Skipper! That's 24 species!!
