Those are beautiful pictures, and you've seen a wonderful mix of butterflies. That Juniper Hairstreak is such an unusual color. Keep up the posts, if you have time and energy. We love to see what you've seen.

Beautiful pictures, Nicholas! I especially like seeing the pale swallowtail, the bramble hairstreak, the anise swallowtail and the western tiger swallowtail, butterflies we don't see in the east.

Oh Nicholas, your pics are just wonderful! Gracious, you do a good job with that camera. It is really fun for us in the Eastern US to see your Western species. My favorite shots here are the Pipevine Swallowtail cat and the American Lady. Thanks for sharing your butterflies with us. :o)

Excellent pictures, Nicholas. Ditto what Sherry said. We don't see those in the Eastern USA. The cats for the Anise Swallowtail look very similar to the Eastern Black Swallowtail. Do you get any of the Eastern Blacks there? What do the Anise use for host plants? Anise? It is similar to fennel, no?
