Raising caterpillars

I started a monarch butterfly garden this year and have had lots of caterpillars and eggs. I can't seem to find a really good enclosure, however, that will keep the newly hatched cats from escaping. I leave plenty of fresh milkweed, but they still escape. What do you all use? I have been using mason jars w/ single ply paper towel screwed on the stop. I tried cheese cloth, but the babies got right through. I'm thinking of just letting them grow in my garden and bringing them in when they are bigger . I have four in crystalis now, and tons of eggs on my milkweed outside. I live near Fort Worth, Texas.
