If it is in fact cut open, best is to just euthanize it. If you are going to try to keep it anyway, a small amount of cyanoacrylate glue to seal the pupal case will cover the exposure and may save it though.

These old eyes can't tell from the picture, but if it did feed on the Ipomoea and has is a "free tongue" pupa it most likely is an Agrius cingulata pupa... no free tongue Hyles lineata. Not as likely but possible depending on where you are could also be a Neococytius cluentius that strayed in from the south.

Here's a closeup. I can't find any superglue around here. You should be able to see 2 wet spots where the juices ooze out when the pupa is disturbed. I don't want to have to kill it but I will if I have to. Can I put it in a bag and mist it? I feel really bad!

Only you can decide what to do, but don't put it in a plastic bag and mist it. If you are going to keep and overwinter it a non airtight container with it laying on a just slighly damp paper towel and kept in a cool/dark place is better. I used to overwinter my pupa on the bottom shelf of refridgerators in containers with them laying on peeled cardboard on the paper towel, and periodically lightly misted the PT through the winter.

Depending on how much "juice" it lost, and whether dried discharge has sealed the wounds or not, it may or may not survive, and it may or may not produce a formed adult. But there will be easy indicators whether or not it is still viable as time passes. If you don't want to babysit it for months the other choice will probably be the better one FWIW.
