Back in the late '90s, I could not raise monarchs for a couple years. The cats would all die. I quit using Miracle Grow on my milkweed and eventually, things got back to normal. YMMV

I have never experience any problems with it. I usually mix it in with the cheap potting soil from the big box stores that doesn't have any fertilizers in it.

Interesting KC. I guess the poor thing can wait a little longer until I get some organic soil. Oh wait, I can take some from my organic garden! Cathy

I have used MiracleGro fertilizer on our blueberry shrubs, and this seems to work well. The Japanese beetles that occasionally visit the shrubs and chew up the leaves don't seem to mind. However, MiracleGro fertilizer does not contain any toxic herbicide or pesticide, according to the label. It is a mixture of various mineral salts that dissolve easily in water, and provide essential elements to the plants. I can't say for sure what is in their potting soil. Have you read the label?
