Need advice to ID this butterfly/moth found inside

Yesterday I saw a "baby butterfly" on the wall, up near the ceiling, in the kitchen. It was supposed to freeze outside, so I left it, and released it this morning. But there was a second one this morning, and a third later today.

So I am a bit concerned that I might be at the beginning of a moth infestation. I can't determine whether they are butterflies or moths, but they don't look like the pantry moth photos I found online. And they don't seem to be attracted to light. They just want to hang out at the top of the wall near the ceiling.

And I cannot figure out how these got inside. I brought in big batches of basil yesterday to make paste to freeze for my winter supply. The basil was washed and then processed. It seems like a long shot that multiple moth/butterfly pupae were in the basil and just suddenly hatched inside the house. But it's all I can think of.

Anyway, here are photos. Help with ID is really appreciated! They are small, about 1".
