Petunias don't like me by the way. That's one of those "easy to grow" plants that I can't grow.

I may have to give up my "natives only" stance. All the pictures I see posted with hordes of butterflies are of non-native plants. I never have even half as many visitors to my garden as some of you. I'm going to blame it on the partial shade, just to make me feel better.;-)

Docmom, zinnias are a good draw for butterflies, I plant probably 600 or more zinnias in several areas in my yard every year.

I do grow zinnias every year, but they get terrible mildew. I've had god luck with Tithonia, but it blooms so late in our season, that it's almost gone before it really gets going. I'm going to try to get it started early this year with some rigged-up green house.
