Good Resource for Noobs (that would be me)

I just found this great resource online. I don't plan on ever being a 'BF science-type' nor do I plan on raising them, but I was very excited to see the "Map Search" on the left menu-bar, which lets me choose my state, and then gives me this great mongo-list of BFs that I have here. Which means that now I can click into all THOSE links, and make a list of what I need to plant for them all!
(This is where the scene fades to a misty-meadow location with thousands of butterflies flitting above my head and you hear angels singing "AAAAAA!!" in the background.)

And then you get that awful sound of a needle dragging across a record as the scene snaps back to the reality of me sitting at my desk at work. Crap.

Anyway, I'll feed them, so youse-guys can study them...

Here is a link that might be useful: Butterflies & Moths of North America

LOL
That sounds so familiar, "I'm not going to raise them, bring them in, just plant host/nectar plants and let it be..."
Think I'll go out and listen for the fluttering wings in the breeze. Oh yeah. Gotta WORK.
(enter scratching needle sound)

Did I miss something, or did I actually say that once before already in the forum? Or am I just dense and that's just a common thing that newbies say? Cuz I really don't want to "officially"..."scientifically,"..."put-them-under-glass" type raising/studying them...which is what I meant. I know that there are "real" butterfly enthusiasts here who are passionate about them, and I admire that; I'm just not into the science of it all...body-parts, the how-to of the cat-to-BF morphing...I just want to feed them and provide an environment where they can sustain themselves and just 'do their thing.'

This is a pleasure-venture for me, not a scientific one...if that clarifies it.

Sorry if I was redundant; I come here as a resource occasionally, and don't realize when I've already said something. Certainly don't wanna sound like a broken record (or a scratched one!)

I think fighting8r is probably referring to the fact that most of us just start off being casual about butterflies, and it quickly turns into an obsession.

Oh, phew...I thought I overstepped my noo-bee bounds again.
Obsession you say? Crud...every time I visit a new forum, I get a new obsession. Must be that addictive personality thing. Is there a cure yet?
