A portable greenhouse

For those of you who, like me, have been wanting a greenhouse, I found portable ones that are very reasonable in price. I purchased one and my husband and I put it up in less than an hour. I now have a place to overwinter those plants that can't make it through our winters.

My husband, who had been adamantly opposed to a greenhouse, approved of this one, cause it can be taken down and stored in the summer. I've included a link to the website where I made my purchase. These are listed other places for much more.

Here is a link that might be useful: Farmhouse portable greenhouse.

I sure wish you luck. I had one somewhat similar to that and it started seriously degrading/falling apart in less than a year. I was kind of shocked that it didn't last longer because it looked somewhat tough when I put it up. From the feedback I've seen on most of these mini greenhouses, I think the majority of them aren't worth the money.

Brandon,

I went back and reread the feedback on this particular one and out of 41 responses, there were only 2 that were totally negative. The others were 4 and 5 ratings out of 5, with several that had used the green house for several years and in cold climates. I checked out the reviews before making the purchase. I hope I have good luck with it. I'll be using it through the winter months with a small portable heater. I'll let everyone know how it does.

Sandy,

How's the greenhouse doing? We've had a few nights in the low 20's here.

I'm getting my camera gear in a few days.

It's doing great so far. I have to be careful with the zipper--don't want to have to repair it--but it warms up rapidly during the day and has provided the light protection we've needed so far. I bought a little ceramic heater at Lowe's for the cold weather.

I've still got BFs! I saw Painted Ladies, a Buckeye, a Gulf Frit, a Dogface, a QM, and a Snout today. We've had two frosts this week, our first, but I still have nectar in the garden.

I'm excited for you and your new camera. Have fun with it, and don't do anything stupid like breaking your wrists!

Sandy
