In late September I observed a female eastern tiger laying eggs on our ligustrum. I noted the location of the eggs then decided to capture her to try to get her to lay in my enclosure with more ligustrum and lantana for nectar. Long story short, she didnt appear to be laying so I released her. The eggs I gathered didnt make it past the 1st instar. I was bummed.
Today, after two months I was going to clean out the plants that were still in buckets in the enclosure when I noticed A BUNCH of frass on the ground. After looking around I found a chrysalis! So, while I didnt get to raise as many as I wanted, I still get to have this surprise as a small success.
