Hi Colleen!

What a beautiful plant, right? To the best of my knowledge, it's Haworthia emelyae v. major. This plant typically stays pretty singular or doesn't offset much. Recently, this clone has been making the rounds in the trade, spreading out pretty far from the source which I believe was C&J plants in Vista. They must have produced a prolific pupper in a batch of seedlings - perfect for easy propagation. I have 2 that have already produced a few clones in less than a year.

OK, I'm correct in my thinking then. Good to know. Our supplier usually does not get anything wrong, but had it labeled as a H. magnifica hybrid. I know that isn't right, at least.

It is beautiful, and a nice change from the usual Haws I see.

I doubted the ID because I thought H. emelyae v. major really doesn't offset -- mine and the others I saw that day had 2+ pups!

My guesses would be either H. mirabilis v. paradoxa, or as Ryan has already said, H. emelyae v. major. Identifying Haws are SO much fun! :P

I trust this is OK to revisit but I still have some questions about ID's. These plants are all labeled H. emelyae and one is specifically labeled H. emelyae major (first pic). I understand there are variations with growing conditions and then clones and .... I'm confused once again!!!!!!

I meant to write earlier about how the flattishness of the rosettes in this complex is somehow quite appealing, especially when they redden up from increased light and lessened water. Then I remember I like habitat plants and try to grow mine like it would be, usually not succeeding but sometimes getting it right, as you can see in the photo I'm still a way's away.

FWIW, your #1 and #3 look like they're in the emelyae complex, but #2's leaves are quite different.

Thx, Jeff. It's all so difficult. As RoRo mentioned a possible ID as H. mirabilis, this is what I have labeled as that plant.
