Cactus Fell Over

CharlieStout

My wife was cleaning the other day and bumped into the table that our plants are kept on. The cactus fell over and we are not really sure what to do. From what I can tell, there is no rot as the base feels firm when I push on it with a pencil eraser. We have a new pot to replant the cactus in, but never got around to doing it. We are going to go out today and get some cactus soil and something to prop it up with while the roots take to the new soil. Any suggestions about this?

I also have some questions. What kind of cactus is this? It was her grandmothers, and is over 10 years old. It was only as tall as just above the eraser when we got it, in 30 months has nearly doubled in size. I don't know if this is normal or not.

Also, we have never seen it bloom. It stays inside all year long near a window that lets sun in 4-8 hours a day depending on the season. We water it every 3-5 weeks with tap water as well.

I would appreciate any help and opinions that anybody has.
