Black stuff on echeveria leaves

I have an echevaria "lipstick" that seems otherwise healthy, but is developing black smudges/marks on leaves. I have a nice gritty soil and water every 3 or 4 weeks with a little liquid cactus fert mixed in during the warmer weather.
Could this be sunburn? I've had it both inside and out, shade and natural light in a greenhouse and it doesn't seem to make a difference. The smudges are on both old leaves and new.
