In researching this genus I've seen references to some species *not* being succulent, and I'm wondering if there is a list somewhere that would clarify which are, which aren't, and which may be in that grey area in between.
Seems like the arid lovers not only have a caudex, but also a nice thick fleshy stem, while the moisture lovers have thinner, more vine-like stems?
I grow both succulents and rainforest plants (in terrariums) and would love to grow this genus in both set ups! Can't seem to figure out who other than D. elata is moisture loving, and I don't want to try a species in the wrong set up and kill it :(
Thoughts? I ask terrarium people, but they don't even know what the genus is :D Boy are they missing out!
