The guy at the shop only knew that it was a succulent, but not the name.
I bought it anyway

Paddle Plant or Kalanchoe thyrsiflora

Kalanchoe luciae; someone else can probably tell you the subspecies.

[I don't know if your plant is properly called Paddle Plant or not, but K. thyrsiflora is something else. There's a lot of confusion about it.]
