What kind of succulent is it?

I have had this succulent for quite awhile and it has never been repotted because I didn't know what type soil to use, so just let it keep putting off little ones and blooming. It blooms once a year and then inside eventually it has red seeds in it, I think they are seeds. I water if when ever. It is shaded on my patio and was in a shaded patio when my daughter gave it to me.

I have found it on the internet before, but for the life of me, I can no longer find it.................I am sure it is a succulent

Haemanthus albiflos..A very nice one too.

nomen_nudum thanks so much for the ID. I shall write it on a popcycle stick and stick in plant. Now I can learn more about it.

Toni, I have had it here at my house for 5yrs and it was at my daughters for about 2yrs. I kept admiring it so one day she gave it to me. An elderly lady up the street gave her quite a few of her plants and my daughter thought it was an orchid till it bloomed...............NOT. LOL. She kept it by her patio door so it probably did not see much sun at all. I have had it on my front porch which did get morning sun and then moved onto my other patio and it gets some late afternoon sun sometimes.
I have loved it and see babies growing in it , but need to learn about it more. I am sure it needs repotting after spending so many years in that soil, but doing very well. I never fertilize it either..............

Now,, I can go look up how to take care of it ,and probably will kill it if I transplant it...........lolol I have never seen it in any nursery or Home Depot, or Lowes, or Target.

Neysa,

This one's easy - it will stay in leaf year-around in SouCal if you keep it warmish in the winter. Very little direct sun year-around. Water when dry. Bulb-plants are great.

Wonder how tall/wide this plant gets...Is it a bulb?

Your daughter lucked out..it's a true beauty. The flower was worth waiting for...

I know what you mean about repotting, or changing care.
Like they say, never fix something that isn't broken. lol.
