I have a Monadenium as well, but a different species. Mine has grown like a weed, and is actually flowering now. I have only repotted mine once, and rarely water it, as they are prone to rot, from what I have heard. I wouldn't do much to yours until it grows a bit more. If it were mine I would repot in spring in a clay pot, but that is just what I prefer.

I have had this for about two years and it has tripled in size. It was in a pot slightly larger than yours and I have repotted it once into its current pot. The picture was taken 11/2013. I water maybe once a month during the winter months (Michigan) and begin providing more water in spring when I see new leaves. It receives full sun all summer. I would not repot yours at this time; you have at least another year in that pot. If you pot into too large a pot, you run the risk of over watering based on pot size.

Thanks, Howard. I think I will water a little more when it wakes up, and maybe find a sunny spot on my back porch this summer. Your plant is awesome, and I hope I can get mine to grow like that. :-)
