Blooming rocks!

Given the totally unimpressive response I got from my boyfriend and guy friend when I showed them my blooming rock in person -- I just wanted to share a photo I just took of this little "rock" with bright yellow flowers. :-) I'm figuring y'all might be a tad more excited about blooms than the dudes in my life are (or aren't, to be more accurate).

I had made a little indoor garden in a serving platter I had at home for these cute little creatures but didn't really expect flowers. Even the flowers are SO cute!

Sugi, this dude is - congrats on your Faucaria flower!

Now, to rain on your parade....that plant behind it has different care than mimicry plants do as a rule, although it would hobble along with them - it should be grown differently than the others for best effect.

RE: Blooming rocks!

Gorgeous plants!
I'm going to respectfully disagree with Cactusmcharris and say that your plant is not a Faucaria but is instead Aloinopsis luckhoffii.
Kudos, seedmoney

RE: Blooming rocks!

Cactus -- thank you!

Different care? How different? Figures...haha. Well at this point, they are all in really loose soil with sand on top and I only water them with a spray bottle ~~ maybe once a week. I only made the garden as a makeshift solution; it's a ceramic Korean serving platter with not a single hole but it's pretty. :-) So for now, I spritz until each is sufficiently wet and leave it be.

These living rocks are so cute, though!

Seedmoney -- I believe you are correct re Aloinopsis! Incidentally, do I snip these flowers off once they're done or let it alone? And oddly enough, the flowers have folded up again; is that normal? What are these--prayer flowers? :-D
