I don't see a picture but the first two "black succulents" that come to mind are Echeveria "Black Prince" and Echeveria "Black knight". Hope this helps.

If my phone is showing the right measurement symbol for feet, I think you may be talking about an Aeonium, and likely a Catlin hybrid (with 'Zwartkop' in its parentage).

I'm sure Ro is correct.

hanzrobo, I'm with you as far as Ro being right except for the part about 2' high & 2' wide WOW!!! isn't that 2 ft high and 2 ft. W I D E ?
That's a mighty BIG Zwartkop.

Now on the other hand 2" inches tall & 2" wide could be the Black Prince, But what do I know???

I should have asked if the plant was made up of several rosettes, to equal the 2 foot across. If so, I'd say Catlin hybrids of Aeonium would fit the bill. They are more black/purple at different times of the year. Here are some examples:

Another nearly black succulent is the Haworthia resendeana. I find their dark green-black leaves really cool, and they're surprisingly prickly!
