Hey Tom! Nice finds, both!

I have 2 L. principis'. The first one I was very careful with and has been healthy though it doesn't seem to grow. The second one I recently acquired, introduced it to too much light too soon and possibly overwatered it, not having repotted it yet. The leaves turned that burnt orangey color and some of the newer growth became loose. I'm hoping it survives.

Also, that might be more than one plant.

hanz -

I potted mine up in a dry mix. It was bone dry when it arrived, so I did mist it a bit after potting - something I usually do not do with cacti, but I noticed the orangey foliage in the center. So, I thought it would be okay to give it a really small drink, considering the free-draining mix it is in.

It is now in a south facing window...gets pretty sunny there, should I protect it a bit? That window is where I have most of my C and S, so I thought it would be okay. Are these guys a little light sensitive?

Thanks.

T

Tom,

Yes, in my experience, they are a bit light sensitive. I'm pretty sure they can eventually take full sun, they just need a VERY slow introduction.

'Blue Glow' really likes to stretch out its roots. Pot it up regularly for best results.
