Rotten astrophytum

Hi, I just noticed that my variagated astrophytum was tilted... It was rotten. I cut the rotten parts out. My question is : if I let it out of the soil and let it dry... Is there a chance for it to reroot?

Chicopha, I'm no expert, but it can't hurt cutting rotted parts..How much rot do you see?
BTW, sprinkle Cinnamon after removing rot.

I learned the cinnamon trick on this forum. A couple years ago, the top of one of my succulents softened. Rot!
I removed the rot, sprinkled cinnamon..Miraculous.
