OK... I'm jealous! I would love a green house and those plants reflect the reason I want one too, they look so rich and plump!

I've always wondered if I created a tarp with plastic if I could reap some of the benefits of a green house effect anybody know if that would add any benefit to my Cacti & Succulent creatures?

Hi Greg, not wanting to hi-jack Howards thread but...on reading your post I began to wonder....why would someone living in California want a g/h, I would have thought they would be a rare sight in your area...obviously I'm wrong! I thought with temps/climate such as I think you get, you would grow such plants outdoors and a g/h would get very overheated in your parts. Do you get much rain, is that why? Here in the UK they are a very common sight as our climate is temperate, the growing season relatively short, but can often be rather low on warmth and sunlight. Hoping you can enlighten me? Cheers!

Gil, Your obsolutely right! we have the perfect weather and sometimes it could be to HOT!! so I was of the understanding that the G/H would provide a green room enviroment making them look plump!
There's a restaurant over in this area who has Succulents inside and they are maintained by a nursery that rotates them every so often in his G/H and I would think Boy! they sure do look nice, I WONDER WHAT THERE SECRET IS... and then one day I asked, BINGO! the G/H.

Don't you think it would be beneficial?

Not neccesarily to keep them warm but just having the Green room effect.
