" New Start For Golden Barrels"

So today I cleaned an area when I first started with my cacti & succulent collection, it was way over grown with alot of every type of semps and G/B's I cleaned the area and replaced with G/Barrels that were under everything at once, well 2 days ago at least they were.

Now all I need is a Tall glass of ICE TEA :)

Still have more to do but with the longer days with us it should be a breeze, I need more dirt to finish up.

Golden barrels are one of my very favorites. I have three about the size of yours in my front yard and a small one on my patio. They are so simple but I think they are so pretty.

azspedsrn, Thanks, I used to buy mine at TARGET when they had agarden shop, every Christmas they would have a CLEARANCE SALE to make room for the Trees and sell them for up to 75% OFF Id buy almost every thing insight. I miss theyre Garden Shop SALES.

How often do they bloom? Had flowers once, but none in the past 8 years (plants in a greenhouse). Yale

Mfyss, You know the funny thing is mine actually just started blooming about 3 years ago, it seemed they'd always get buds but never actually open up so I thought it wasnt Hot enough for them, then low and behold they just decided to bloom for me :)

I guess what Im saying is I have no idea what triggers these barrels to bloom I know I would even apply fertilizer & Nothing ever happened either.

If I could grow year round outside like that I would probably have one foot in the grave from over work but would love every minute of it. Beautiful place you have. It's no easy task working around these plants. Thanks for the tour.

We have many of the same plants. I like the rock work. I need to work on mine. I could NEVER get away with sand...darn CATS!
Anyways, your yard and home are a complimentary combo! Very nice.
