Large Jades need attention

But just where do I start with such plants? They grow well and flower reliably each year for me in the g/h. I've scoured the forum and read of so many whacks that have turned out just great but I still find it rather scary to do it to large plants like these. On looking at results others have had I can now see where I've gone wrong...in parts anyway. A recent comment by Tapla/Al that I read suggested something along the lines that in order to mimic a tree a plant should have one apex as multi stemmed plants can be confusing and I can now see one of my mistakes! Some of the topmost growth is elongating, not exactly etiolated, but putting on length and I'm wondering if I should cut it back but that would just promote a tighter head...is that what I should do or does it need thinning? Would my 2nd plant fare well if I sliced off that right hand trunk? As mentioned in my other posts, I welcome and look forward to learning from anyone's ideas so thanks for looking in...again!
