Yes in fact I did. Ornamental Plant Shop Located in Indonesia, They are now on EBay. Paid $100 for plants and $35 shipping. Lost everything at U.S. customs. No Phy. Cert. in box. I though they would take care of this for the high cost of shipping. Well, no it's my fault for not asking. Pay Pal was no use. Cost would have been another $25 on top of everything else. No deal. PayPal wanted me to file a police report.

Yikes Stush! That's kind of what I was afraid of. I've seen on the eBay listings they often say "not responsible for confiscated plants," which makes it sound like it happens at least somewhat often, and that made me nervous.

Greg, the big one I'm after is Echeveria laui. There is one on eBay from Hungary with nice coloring that I have been eyeing. Not so much experience from other countries but have ordered from Hawaii, which is several thousand miles from me and further than Europe. Plant packaging was awesome and plants gorgeous without problems and no need to worry about international problems.

After my mishap, I order only from U.S. and have never had a bad time. I was very pleased with all my EBay orders. Mostly rare seeds that you can't find anywhere else. So far so good. Keeping me very busy.

Keep an eye on your U.S. eBay. There is a haworthia seller who lists Echeveria lauii @ times.

Stush, was your confiscated plant a CITES issue? I have ordered a couple agaves with no problems and more recently monkey puzzle trees. I really do not like ordering from overseas but never had any issues. All plants arrived healthy. You just never know if they will arrive.lol

From what I was told by some others who order, it is hit or miss. They don't search all packages that arrive in the U.S. Like my China Clivia seeds that were inside a doll. Ordered 20 seeds and all 20 germinated. That was years ago.
