Got this large cactus a month or two ago and I love it. I've given it very little water and its in the best sunny spot I have, however its in a pretty cold spot in my house. When I got it the lady at the store transplanted it because it was in a very small pot. I was just giving it a little bit of water today and noticed a couple brown spots along the base of one side. I'm not sure if i should be worried about it. What do you guys think?

Another thing i noticed, is that the lady at the store put in a lot of rocks on top of the soil (about 1-2 cms), would the rocks keep moisture in the soil and not let it air out? I noticed that even tough I barely gave it water, the dirt is still damp. I put it in my bathroom which is small and turned up the heat, hopefully it should dry out.
