Aloe vera help

Hi, I got an Aloe vera offshoot from my grandmother exactly a week ago. It was not very healthy to begin with, because it came from very overcrowded conditions, but since I repotted it, it's condition has been deteriorating. It gets droopier and browner everyday. I have it potted in a mixture of soil I got from the ground (I live in Dallas, TX so the soil I have is slightly sandy. Not the most favorable, but it was all I could do) and some cactus mix. The mixture is mainly cactus mix, but I did not have enough of it so I added some of the other soil. It shares a pot with a small Escherichia violet queen. I think it might be just going through some shock after being moved to such drastically different conditions. I try not to water it too often, although earlier today it got caught in a heavy downpour, but luckily for me it only lasted a few minutes. It is in a pot about a foot deep. I will upload a picture or two of it. The leaves are drooping and some are sort of clipped in the middle, causing everything past the clip to droop downwards, like when you extend a measuring tape really far and it "snaps." So what should I do about this aloe? Is this normal, or should I be doing something else to it? I watered it slightly yesterday after putting in the Escherichia violet queen, and then it got watered heavily today when caught in the rainstorm. Other than that, the last time it was watered was a week ago when I brought it home. It sits outside under speckled shade from the canopy of a medium sized Oak tree. I'm afraid the heavy rain might cause all of my succulents to rot. I don't plan on watering them for a few weeks now because of the rain, unless they look like they need it. Oh and I live in plant hardiness zone 8a.

Ok here's the pictures.
