Repairing my garden, finally

Between the extremes of winter and the hail storm, my beautiful succulents that I had worked so hard to care for were pretty much trashed, rotted, or dead. But then I noticed that Lola, that I could see from my window, was starting to bloom. I went out there and took a closer look and a whole bunch of them were blooming in spite of their sad state! Spring is here and the plants are recovering. So I guess I need to get back to work! It's probably a good time to take cuttings now too.

I don't think my Blue Cante will ever regain its former glory now that it has red pox marks all over it, so maybe I'll buy a new one or behead it. If I behead it, will it sprout new plants at the base?

Yes, it should. You've got a few months of growing before it shuts down for the hot months. Cut at an angle and dust the cut with sulfur powder, and it should pup.

Well, I'm glad to hear that all was not lost in your garden.
Nature sometimes disappoints us, but usually gives us hope to try again.

I guess that's what spring is for. :-)
