Graptopetalum amethystinum (sp)?

I know this courtesy of our friend Cactus McHarris, who used to have some beauties of this. Nice find Greg, great color!

Karen, that's a close guess (and spelled correctly). I think it's G. superbum, and a lovely plant it is, Greg.

Au contraire, my Lady! It is differently NOT Graptopatalum amethystinum. The plant on the left hasn't had enough light and has had more water over the winter while the one on the right has been forgotten about and in much stronger sunlight, thus the difference in color.

Greg, while I don't know absolutely and this may be a RoRo ID, but it has some resemblance to Echeveria 'Debbie'. It's just the leaves of E. 'Debbie' are a bit more "plump".

Are those flowers coming off that lavender/grey plant?? I can't tell.

Yes they are, Kathi - they're characteristic of G. superbum (big plant, small flowers).

Thanks Jeff, Pirate girl, & bikerdoc, All your comments are surely appreciated, So do we all agree its G. Superbum? I had never seen this plant in bloom and I have to admit that I was fascinated by it, Have we any LAKERS fans out there?

Definitely Graptopetalum pentandrum ssp. superbum!

There's no such thing anymore - there are G. superbum and G. pentandrum. Superbum has been promoted to species rank, and I for one am heartily glad.
