Do you have a picture of the whole plant + pot? Where do you intend on keeping this plant during the growing season, and during the winter?

Here's a picture of it now. I'm moving this year but right now it's in a partially shaded/ partial direct sun south window. I'm mostly concerned about how to water it. I'm getting a lot of mixed messages from searches

Too much dirt in relation to the plant. The plant can't drink the water fast enough to get the soil dry after you water it. We call this over potting..I think you are in the wait and see period. I rarely water mine. I have it In a large pot with other plants but it is in a built up area of rocks that raises the area of dirt above the pots mass and creates its own little pot., it drains well.

First things first - unless you can find a place to keep your plant outdoors for most of the year where it will get some real sun, fresh air and cooler nights - you will have a difficult time maintaining your plant in anything resembling optimal health. Titanopsis are not house plants. They can tolerate poor conditions for a long time and deceive their unsuspecting owners.

Warm days (65-80+ F) and cooler nights (50-60F) along with sunshine are ideal for growth. This is typically spring and fall. During this time plants will be actively growing, and late summer/ fall is typically flowering time. Hot days and nights lead to a "dormant" period, as will cold days. During the quiet times watering is minimal. When conditions are suitable, you can water more frequently depending on the soil type. It might be once a week or every 3 weeks, depending on many factors.

Your plant as pictured looks fine. It is in shock but can recover completely in the right conditions. You will have to figure out what works for your situation.

Thanks for your advice. The plant is currently hanging in there. Right now I think it's too humid/cold/windy outdoors but in a few weeks I may try to acclimate it outside.
