First Bloom from a HB Epiphyllum

| Here's the first bloom from one of my epiphyllums that I got about 35 years ago from a little ol' lady in Long Beach, still looks great:

| Wow that's a beauty. That little 'ol lady gave a gift that keeps on giving. Mine are late this year! They are still all developing buds. Last year they started blooming the 3rd week of April. |

| Hehehe... no, not the first bloom in 35 years, the first bloom of many for the year .... it's a very large bloom, I'd say about 8 inches across, one of the large epiphyllums I've seen. |

| That is one healthy Epi. It sort of looks like my 'Tele Star'.

| MJ, What a HUGE number of buds/blooms you have on those plants! Amazing, especially since so many Epi's tend to produce just a single bloom at the end of each stem only. Are these different varieties and are they named? Would love to see the blooms. I'm also in Huntington Beach, and my Epi's have just finished their bloom season - GORGEOUS FLOWERS! Haven't been to this site for a while, so am still trying to figure out how to upload some pictures of a few of my favorites. |
